    Hi, I’m Jennifer.

Here is a little about myself so that you can determine whether or not I will be a good fit for you. I share my experience and what kind of client I tend to have the most success helping, but therapy is ultimately about you.

The clients who are the most successful in therapy with me are the ones who come ready to begin their journey. They appreciate my supportive and gentle approach that is balanced with my direct feedback.

Many of them have been to therapists before but were turned off by the way the therapist took a passive approach to therapy. I am an active participant in your treatment, and you’ll never see me take out a clipboard and write as you share your story. I work with you to go deep, work through the pain, and begin to heal.

I take a special interest in helping adults work through a variety of issues such as childhood emotional neglect (what is thatyou ask?), relationship problems, and those trying to pick up the pieces in the aftermath of a painful event or trauma.

    Can I actually help you?

Therapy is one of the few professions where years of experience doesn’t correlate with clinical competency.  Here you will find that I went to school to do therapy and have a license that allows me to work with clients.

I earned my Masters of Science with an emphasis in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Francis Marion University and a Bachelors in Psychology from Georgia College and State University. I received hundreds of hours of supervision, training with field experts, and completed rigorous graduate program studies.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia.  I have experience working in a variety of settings and populations including a social-emotional research laboratory, treatment and prevention of child and adolescent physical and sexual abuse, community counseling for children in foster care, and outpatient substance abuse treatment for individuals and groups.

I use several evidence-based practices in therapy. Feel free to ask me about them!

    I’ve received certifications in:

Moral Reconation Therapy –  A systematic, cognitive-behavioral, step-by-step treatment strategy designed to enhance self-image, promote growth of a positive, productive identity, and facilitate the development of higher states of moral reasoning.

Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) – foundations and treatment of traumatic stress from the International Association of Trauma Professionals.

    On a Personal note:

Jennifer is from Georgia and enjoys attending local events, taking walks outside, cooking, and spending time with her husband and son.
